ABOUT

The Oyster Room

The Oyster Room is a refined coastal dining destination in Salcombe, offering elegant interiors, locally sourced seafood and relaxed evenings overlooking the harbour. Combining modern coastal style with warm hospitality, it has become known for intimate dining experiences inspired by the South West shoreline.

What makes your business or experience unique within the South West?

Our focus is on combining refined coastal dining with a relaxed atmosphere that still feels welcoming and personal. From locally sourced seafood to carefully designed interiors overlooking the harbour, every detail is intended to create an experience that feels both elevated and effortless.

What kind of experience do you hope visitors leave with after spending time with you?

We want guests to leave feeling like they’ve discovered one of the South West’s hidden gems. Whether it’s a quiet evening for two or a long dinner with friends, the goal is always to create memorable moments people genuinely want to return to.

Is there anything about your space, setting or approach that people particularly remember?

Many visitors remember the atmosphere most. The combination of candlelit interiors, harbour views and the relaxed pace of the space creates an experience that feels calm, intimate and distinctly coastal without being overly formal.

If someone was visiting for the first time, what would you recommend they experience most?

We’d always recommend arriving before sunset for drinks overlooking the harbour before settling into a full seafood dining experience. It’s the best way to enjoy both the setting and the atmosphere the restaurant is known for.

Is there anything visitors should know before arriving?
