ABOUT

Moorland Makers Workshop

Moorland Makers Workshop offers relaxed creative experiences set within the wild beauty of Dartmoor. Designed for visitors who want to slow down, learn something new, and create something meaningful, each workshop is inspired by the textures, colours, and natural materials of the surrounding moorland. Guests can take part in pottery sessions, natural dyeing workshops, botanical printing, and seasonal craft experiences led by skilled local makers. Whether visiting alone, as a couple, or with friends, the workshops are designed to feel calm, welcoming, and memorable, giving guests a chance to connect with the landscape through creativity.

What makes your business or experience unique within the South West?

We combine hands-on creativity with the natural beauty of Dartmoor, giving visitors a chance to make something personal while experiencing the slower rhythm of the landscape.

What kind of experience do you hope visitors leave with after spending time with you?

We want guests to leave feeling calm, inspired, and proud of having created something with their own hands.

Is there anything about your space, setting or approach that people particularly remember?

Visitors often remember the peaceful studio setting, the views across the moor, and the relaxed guidance from local makers.

If someone was visiting for the first time, what would you recommend they experience most?

Our pottery and natural dyeing half-day workshop is the perfect introduction, combining creativity, conversation, and a real sense of place.

Do visitors need to book in advance? If so, how should they book?
